Incompetent Headmaster Dr. Benjamin Twist is sacked from his job at St. Michaels' School and when he applies for a job
at another school he is mistaken for a prison governor called John Benjamin and given a job at Blakedown Prison in Devon.
On arrival at the prison he is mistaken for an escaped prisoner and is initially jailed before being reinstated as the Governor.
