For The Love Of Ada DVD Cover

Based on the Thames Television series, the film features Ada (Irene Handl) and Walter Bingley (Wilfred Pickles) who, although nearly in their Seventies, are about to celebrate their first wedding anniversary. Unknown to them, Ada's daughter Ruth (Barbara Mitchell) and her husband Leslie (Jack Smethurst) have organised a surprise celebration party for them that evening.

However, things start to go wrong early in the day when Walter's business partner Arthur (Arthur English) almost lets slip the news of the party. The day continues to go downhill from there with the happy couple falling out over Ada's new blonde wig, Walter losing the money he was using to buy Ada's present and then finding it has been spent on a new coat and Ada hearing that Walter has been knocked down by a car...and that's just the start of it.
