Who Done It?

Hugo Dill (comic icon Benny Hill) lives in two worlds. One is the hard - and cold - world of reality in which he is a rink sweeper at an ice show.
The other is the highly colourful world of the pulp detective magazine, which he reads to the point of mania. He wins Fabian the bloodhound and £100 in a
magazine competition, and although the dog chases him and showgirl Frankie into the ice show, wrecking it and resulting in their being fired, the prize money
helps him to fulfil his ambition of becoming a private detective.
Directed by Ealing Studios stalwart Basil Dearden, WHO DONE IT? provided the first major film role for Benny Hill, before he went on to become one of
the best-loved entertainers on television.
